Our Founder: Ben van Delden

Prior to founding Delco AgriFood in May 2025 Ben was a Partner in Deloitte's Sustainability and Industrial Technology practice, where he led the AgriFood Transformation & Circularity consulting team, was the National AgriFood Sector Leader, and served as  Client Lead Partner for several iconic national and international food companies.  Prior to this Ben was a senior partner with KPMG, where he has been Head of Markets,  Agrifood Tech and Circular Economy Sector Leader, Management Consulting Partner and an Audit Partner. 

Beginning his career as an accountant  in New Zealand before moving to Melbourne in 2014, Ben offers 28 years’ international experience advising private and public sector clients in the fields of agribusiness, food, natural capital, climate adaptation, climate smart food production, biosolutions, circularity and decarbonisation. 

He also advises clients on strategy and regional growth, operational excellence, data and technology enablement.  Ben's experience includes leading international industry tours, assisting organisations, regions and industries to baseline their emissions and circularity and create industry roadmaps for growth.

Ben was one of the founders of the Bega Circular Valley program and is an active member of the Regional Circularity Cooperative. He is also one of the founding partners of We 3 AI,  a joint venture delivering practical Vision AI solutions as a service for agriculture and food organisations. 

Ben is a regular public speaker, and a member of the Australian Food and Ag Industry Taskforce which in late 2024 published its eleven recommendations for transforming the sector in the report “Land of Plenty: Transforming Australia into a Food Superpower”.
